New Policies due to COVID-19

New Lesson Policies

Effective 8/2/21:

Our instructor has been fully vaccinated. Masking of a child student is up to parents' preference. We do have other students in the Studio that may be in the presence of your child. For adult students, if you are not vaccinated, please get vaccinated. During the mean time, you are safe around our instructor, however there are other students in the building that are not vaccinated. Please keep your distance and wear a mask in their presence.

If a new governmental mask mandate is issued, the following will be our policy:

  1. All students and parents entering the Studio will be wearing a mask. A cloth mask is fine.
  2. Social Distancing will be practiced at all times. Sorry, no hugs, a bow will have to suffice.
  3. Younger students and those without adequate internet at home will be offered the opportunity to schedule an in-person lesson before older students as older students have the attention span for virtual (Facebook Messenger/Skype) lessons.
  4. Group Lessons will resume at at later time. Watch this space for further details. They will be limited in size as per the Governor's orders.
  5. We reserve the right to require a virtual lesson if the student has been exposed to an officially documented COVID-19 positive individual. If someone in the student's family or close contacts is sick, please stay home.
  6. Piano students will need to wash his/her hands or use hand sanitizer upon arrival. The piano keys will be disinfected after every student.
  7. Contact between instructor and student or parent should be minimized as much as possible. Payment may now be completed using Paypal.

Piano Work Policies

Effective 8/2/21
1. Our piano technician has been fully vaccinated since February, 2021. However, our moving assistant has not been. If you would like our moving assistant to mask up that is fine. Please state this upon our arrival.

If a new governmental mask mandate is issued, the following will be our regular practice:
  1. Piano moves will resume on May 11, 2020. With the following changes:
  • Universal masking will be practiced while movers are on site. Movers will be wearing cloth masks at all times.
  • Movers may ask several times during visit to wash hands. Please direct them to a sink and paper towels.
  • Movers will be using hand sanitizer before and after entering venues.
  • If at all possible, clear the top of the piano off, empty piano bench, and leave the piano untouched a week before AND after the scheduled move as COVID-19 has a lifespan of 3-4 days on piano surfaces. If not possible, contact the Blewett Music Studio for piano disinfecting instructions prior to scheduled move. We reserve the right to reschedule the move. Tuning can be scheduled two weeks after the move.
  • We reserve the right to postpone the scheduled move if client has been exposed to an officially documented COVID-19 positive individual. If someone at any of the move's venues or close contacts is sick or in a "high risk" population, please reschedule.
  • Contact with client should be minimized as much as possible. Payment may now be completed using Paypal.
